Gus Gus Gus Gus!

Today I rode a 17ish hh Hano named Gus in my jumping lesson! He was HUGE and a bit intimidating, but I learned that I really like him and Rob (my trainer) said I did *very* well on him! I did my first course consisting of: A courtesy circle to a 2'3 crossrail, across the arena on a diagonal line to another 2'3 crossrail, then sharp left turn to a 2'3 veritcal with a flowerbox underneath, then back across the other diagonal to a 2'3 oxer. It was *great* fun and for my 5th jumping lesson, it was a challenge, but I loved it! Rob says we may start SHOWING!!! in the spring! And my next lesson is on the 1st of January! What a happy new year! Gus is my favourite horse to jump so far, and I am pleased that Rob told me I could ride him on the 1st :)
And he also told me that my equitation is beautiful and would win me ribbons :D I am *so* happy! so, SO, happy! The lesson had some bad spots, like the first time over the oxer, but overall I learned a lot and had an amazing time! Cooled him out bareback with a saddle pad (that horse is *not* comfy bareback!) and got a few pics afterward <3 He is my second favourite horse ever, Spike, of course, still being first by *far*!

Honey

Rode this cute little quarter pony named Honey today :) It was my first time riding her in a lesson. She did *so* well at helping me learn how to feel, and she was on the bit for a lot of the lesson :) It was hard and there were two bucks out of her when my timing was off... but I am gradually learning timing and how important leg aids are! I am nowhere near good at dressage yet, but I am learning and having a great time doing so!

4th Jumping Lesson :D

Rode Brisco again :) did some gymnastics. Four fences at 2'3"... first two made up a bounce, then 1 stride to a vertical, 1 stride to another vertical. I am *finally* learning to use my legs, and now I am *so* sore! haha... then I hopped on Rudy for a bit and did some flat work so Emily H. could get in some good lines with Brisco. Then we switched back and took off our saddles and did some walk, trot, canter work bareback! It was *so* fun! If only this barn wasn't 45 minutes away :(
Rob told me I had awesome, quiet hands, and more courage than he would have... seeing as it's only my 5th time ever jumping and Emily and I kept up with the two other riders who have been jumping for quite some time... All in all a great day!

Charlie The Crazy Arab!

So I rode Charlie last Sunday... and he's still cute... but he spooked at a car while we were going through some trot poles, jumped 3 feet over the last set, and bolted... haha, by the time I got him stopped we had done 2 flying lead changes and I had lost both stirrups and one rein! So, after some trot work, Lora and I traded so I could get some jumping in :D So I hopped on Brisco and did a 2' course consisting of 5 fences :D it was fun, and though it wasn't a lesson, Brisco taught me a lot, and I get to ride him in a lesson tomorrow with my friend Emily! Wish me luck!
